2021 Balloon Fiesta - Press Flight

Airship & Balloon Company were very pleased to help launch the 2021 Bristol International Balloon Fiesta, for Costa Coffee at the Press Launch in Elm Park, Filton, on August 4th. ABC balloons flew cameras from ITV and Woven Films to capture the action, in our Shield balloon and also our brand new ABC silver and black balloon. The ABC balloons were skilfully flown and managed to take off and land in the same launch field, by flying a box - using the upper and lower winds to steer the balloon. We also made the last ever flight with our popular Stuart the Minion balloon from Queen Square. Stuart is being retired after 10 seasons working for Universal Pictures!

G-KAWS - special shape balloon May 17th. 2021 Another interesting job recently, was the filming of our new and very exciting Special Shape in a private location, which allowed us to free-fly and still keep the balloon details secret! We teamed up with Flying Pictures to use a GB Helicopters Squirrel Helicopter, with Pilot Will, DJI Inspire 2 drone and a couple of FPV drones. We managed to get all of the filming done with a couple of tethers and 3 free-flights, with perfect weather. All of the filming was in 4K and this is now being edited, prior to the on-line launch of the balloon in early May - watch the video by clicking the link
